AUDTIONS— The XX Chromosome Genome Project, written by Indiestry Executive S. Ann Johnson and directed by Natalie Carter, will make its New York City debut on Saturday, April 16, 8 p.m. at Manhattan Movement & Arts Center (MMAC) as part of the Downtown Urban Theater Festival.

· What: Auditions for the New York City debut of The XX Chromosome Genome Project
· When: Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
· Where: 5218 Wabash Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21215

· Prepare a dramatic monologue or spoken word poem (up to 2 minutes)
· Be prepared to sides read from the script (email editor@sannjohnson.info for a copy)

Saturday, Feb. 26th the Baltimore Playwrights Festival is having a Public Reading of one acts at The Strand Theater!

11:45 am: The Unfinished Story by Steve Prevosto directed by Terry Moritz

12:45 pm: Protest by Adam Meyer directed by Peter Davis

RED CARPET AFFAIR —Saturday, Feb. 26,  8 pm- midnight John Wesley will perform at "My First Love," a red carpet affair.  SOULFUL EXPRESSIONS BENEFIT CONCERT—Sunday, Feb. 27, 6-9 p.m. at Leith Symington Griswold Hall at The Peabody Institute, 1 East Mount Vernon Place, Baltimore, MD. Presented by The Peabody Black Student Union. Performers:  Peabody students, James McHenry Elementary Choir,  Chelsey Green, Nathaniel & Noble Jolley, Warren Wolf, and others. Proceeds benefit James McHenry Elementary Music Classes and BSU. Tickets are $5 at the door.

The Kenyon Review is currently accepting submissions for its 2011 Short Fiction Contest. KR will accept electronic submissions Feb. 1-28 2011, through the Short Fiction Contest page of the KR website. Ron Carlson will be the final judge. The winning story will be published in The Kenyon Review, and the author will receive a scholarship to the 2011 Kenyon Review Writers Workshop, June 18-25th, in Gambier, Ohio.
