MARYLAND EVENTS


Maryland Inter-Church Coffeehouse—Saturday, Jan. 29-6:30-9 p.m. at Bethany Presbyterian Church (Education Building formerly known as the Gazette Building) ,1200 Quince Orchard Blvd, Gaithersburg, Md. $15 at the door, $12 in advance Relax and enjoy an evening filled with coffee, tea, baked goods, music, readings and other performances by members of your very own church!

The Baltimore Playwrights Festival will hold the following public reading at Single Carrot Theatre, 122 W North Ave. Baltimore, Maryland 21218. FREE!

• 11 a.m.: Mandy by Ben Logan directed by Dwight Cook
• 1 p.m.: My First Love by Paula Stone directed by Lance Lewman
• 3 p.m.: The Sculptress by Marilyn Millstone directed by Juliana Avery

The DriFish, "THE CLOWN WITH NO CIRCUS" album release—Saturday, Jan. 29, 8:30-11:30 p.m. at The 14Karat Cabaret, 218 West Saratoga St. 21201— Femi The DriFish of hip-hop influenced spoken word poetry band/duo, The 5th L (www.5thl.com) is releasing a solo project – an alternative poetry hip-hop rock album entitled “The Clown With No Circus.” Hosted by Olu Butterfly; Featured performers include: Femi The DriFish and The Out of Water eXperience Band, David "Native Son" Ross, Green Tea, Chuck The Mad Ox, Marc Marcel, Petula Caesar, Kane Mayfield and Word Wide.Admission includes album Admission: $15 at the door, $12 (includes a copy of the CD). Freak Nasty erotic poetry event —Sat. Jan.29 at The 5 Seasons, 830 Gilford Ave, Baltimore MD 21202.
