Spirit of Faith Christian Center's Singles Ministry hosts "Eat Jazz Love"—Sunday, Dec. 12, 5 p.m. at Busboys and Poets, 2021 14th street NW, Washington, DC.  An evening of spoken word and fun with a gospel jazz flavor. Enjoy the soulful sounds of guest artists Kendall King and Green Tea along with appearances by local spoken word artists. Tickets are $15 and must be purchased in advance. TextUAlive” Campaign launch—Sunday, Dec. 12, 6 p.m. at Busboys & Poets, 1025 5th Street NW Washington, DC. An effort to combat texting while driving, featuring live performances by Grammy-nominated recording artist Carolyn Malachi, Strathmore resident artist Chelsey Green, and Hidden Beach recording artist Jeff Bradshaw. A portion of revenue from the event will go directly toward combating distracted driving. Costs $10.

TubaChristmas—Saturday, Dec. 11, 1 p.m. at the Commonwealth Plaza in the Kimmel Center, 260 South Broad Street on the Avenue of the Arts. Toot your own horn at the eighth annual TubaChristmas Celebration, as part of the Free at the Kimmel series. The holidays come to life as more than 100 regional tuba, sousaphone and euphonium players join together to perform holiday classics. Free to the public and for all ages.

Dinosaur Feathers—The band will perform at Beauty Bar on December 11. The ages 21-and-up show will begin at 7 p.m. The cost is $5. Beauty Bar is located at 1444 W. Chicago, Chicago, IL.

Buke and Gass—The duo will bring their unique brand of music to Mercury Lounge on December 11. The ages 21-and-up show will begin at 7:30 p.m.The cost is $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
