It's weekend hangover time! Here are some indiestry events going down this weekend. (Check back for updates). This should hang you over until Monday . . .

Events at Teavolve cafe, 1401 Aliceanna Street:

Bassist Bryan Anderson—
Friday, July 23, 8 pm
Bryan is a bassist, songwriter, and producer with six solo projects to his credit. His unique sound of what he calls "groove music" blends smooth jazz, old school funk, Latin rhythms and a taste of island vibes. A natural entertainer, Bryan pulls you into his live performances, taking you on a musical journey from high energy funk to laidback  grooves and soothing ballads.

Zia Hassan & His Fancy Band—Saturday, July 24, 8 pm

Story-telling folk artist Zia Hasan has been writing, producing, and singing his own brand of folk music for nearly a decade. Many singer-songwriters aspire to play their music in stadiums to throngs of adoring fans. Zia would rather form a bond with a small group in a local bar or a coffeeshop. It makes sense. His songs are stories drawn though melody, drenched in the sound of a wooden guitar, encased in a soothing and unique voice. He balances his set by playing acoustic songs, mixed with delicate and interesting electronics.
