How to create a personal budget spreadsheet is something that should be taught as early as the pre-teen and teen years. While some schools do touch on the subject of money management parents can help also by showing teens how to keep track of their money. This can be used for their allowance, and of course when they get their first job. Through this type of spreadsheet system teens can see how much they are making, how much they are spending and learn how to set and reach financial goals. The earlier good money management techniques are taught, the more likely they will become second nature.
