Open Casting Call: Toby’s Dinner Theater—
Saturday, May 8, 10:30 am-1:30pm at Toby’s Dinner Theater of Baltimore, 5625 Odonnell St. Please, prepare 16 bars of music and be ready to dance. Andrew Lloyd Webber's Hit Musical (exact show title to be announced) Runs mid-September through November 7. Rehearsals start in July. No appointments. Must be 16 years or older. All roles are paid; Toby’s is an EEO employer.


Skin in the Game—
Saturday, May 8, 7:30 pm at Strand Theater, 1823 N. Charles St. Six, 10-minute plays by the Baltimore Playwrights Group. Sponsored by Station North Arts Second Saturdays. Free.


Baltimore’s Literary Cabaret—
Saturday, May 8, 7 pm- midnight at G-Spot, 2980 Falls Road. The Literary Cabaret returns to Baltimore to celebrate the art of creative writing. The event begins with energetic sets of flash-readings of poetry and fiction from Baltimore writers, interspersed with great local musical acts. The evening ends with a two-set concert by two indie senations: Greg Holden and Victoria Vox. All proceeds go to the Association of Writers and Writing Programs to promote the teaching and enjoyment of creative writing. Tickets: $15. ">www.tannertoys.com.

 

Friends and Neighbors Festival: Works by Women AUDITIONS—Monday, May 10, 6:30-8 pm at Strand Theater Company, 1823 N. Charles St. The mission of the Friends and Neighbors Festival is to provide local playwrights with space to showcase new works, while offering patrons affordable theater. Please prepare a one minute monologue. Actors may be asked to cold read.
