OPEN CASTING CALL: The XX Chromosome Genome Project



Indiesty co-founder S. Ann Johnson is casting for her FIRST production as a playwright!

“The XX Chromosome Genome Project”

Directed by Alvin E. Ford Jr.

 

 

“The XX Chromosome Genome Project” is a multicultural choreopoem that explores the similarities and differences of American women. Casting for six roles for 20-30 year old women of various races. One African American, Caucasian, Latina, Asian, Native American, Mixed Heritage (half Black/half White).  Women do not necessarily need to be 20-30 years old or of any one race in particular, but must appear to be and/or are able to transform. Preference given to women who are familiar with spoken word, can learn basic choreography, and are able to at least hold a note. All female cast. Prepare a 1-minute dramatic monologue. Cold readings from the script.

 

Volunteer Production; all positions unpaid.

 

When: Monday, May 10, 6:30-8 pm

Where: Strand Theater Company,1823 N. Charles Street, Baltimore 21201

Performances: Thursday, June 3, Friday June 4, Saturday June 5 at 8 p.m.

Rehearsals: TBA

 

Please note: “The XX Chromosome Genome Project” is a part of the Strand Theater Company’s annual Friends and Neighbors Festival: Works by Women. Those auditioning on May 10 may be casted for one or more of the four plays that will show in the festival.
