mOsno's "The Un-Genre" CD Release Party— Friday, April 30, 8 pm at Teavolve, 1401 Aliceanna St. With special guests: ilyAIMY, Acacia Sears, and sahffi. Baltimore resident/Sudan native mOsno fuses alternative rock with his pentatonic scale, creating a cross-genre fusion of Middle-Eastern flavored songs crafted in a familiar rock sound.

Washington Fine Arts Festival—On Saturday, May 1 and Sunday, May 2 National Harbor will showcase thousands of pieces of artwork from more than 100 artists. This is a free event. Find out more by visiting www.paragonartevents.com.
No Second Troy—The local rockers will perform at Black Cat on Saturday, May 1. This CD release show will highlight their new album Colors. The show will also feature local bands Reserves and Soft Complex. The cost is $12. The show starts at 9 p.m. on the main stage. Black Cat is located at 1811 14th St. NW. Don't forget to buy COLORS. Author Carolyn Dungee Nicholas discusses and signs "HILDA". HILDA is the epic story of Carolyn's mother and five-term District of Columbia Councilmember, Hilda Howland Minnis Mason. The daughter of aspiring and determined, third-generation emancipated slaves, Hilda overcame a legacy of slavery, "Jim Crow" legal, social, economic, and political oppression of Afro-Virginians that followed closely behind the Emancipation, personal tragedies, and hardships to achieve social, economic and political prominence beyond her forbears' wildest imaginings. — Free and open to the public. Book available for purchase at Busboys and Poets. The event takes place on Sunday, May 2 at 5 p.m., at the 5th & K St, NW location.
