The New York Songwriters Circle hosts middle school fundraiser concert
These pre-teens will perform on the same stage that helped launch the career of Grammy-award-winning jazz singer Norah Jones! "We are really looking forward to an amazing evening of music and are confident anyone who attends this special evening will be blown away by the talent of these fine young musicians," said Shafer in a press release. "It is a great honor to assist the school which has helped so many young artists pursue their passion." WHO: New York Songwriters Circle (www.songwriters-circle.com) WHAT: Wagner Middle School Music Department Fundraiser WHEN: Tuesday, May 4th @ 8 p.m. WHERE: The Bitter End, 147 Bleeker St., New York, NY COST: Tickets are $20, $7 for Wagner students/staff, and can purchased by calling either (212) 352-3101 or (866) 811-4111.
Students from Manhattan's Robert F. Wagner Middle School will perform at The Bitter End Club in a special fundraising event sponsored by the New York Songwriters Circle (NYSC). Hosted by NYSC Artistic Director Tina Shafer, the event will include performances by pianist/ singer Ariana Zizzo (the daughter of the NYSC's Tina Shafer), pianist Geoffrey Hufford, tenor saxaphonist Carl Jason Tondo, Luc Moutin on electric bass, pianist Joyce Liang, singer/ guitarist Aiden Berglund, on stand up bass Charles Michie, drummer Nicolas Healey, singer/pianist Brett Steinberg, singer/pianist Isabelle Sanhueza, guitarist/singer Clay Garner and 10 year-old vocalist Morgan Perry.

That is surely one good thing that Students from Manhattan's Robert F. Wagner Middle School have done. These days many schools are faced with acute shortage of funds to run the school. So with a little money they are giving themselves a good chance at survival.
