Pennsylvania (State College and Philly)

Wake Up Yoga
- What better way to relax and exercise than to participate in passive yoga and listen to a melancholic band that flows with each movement? On Friday from 8-10pm the Temple Bhajan Band will perform some call-and-response music for all yoga fans. Anyone with an interest and $10 can find the event at 2329 E. Parrish St., Phila. Pa.

Drag Show
: On Friday at 10:00pm Penn State’s LGBTA community is hosting its annual professional drag show at the HUB Robeson Center. One of the most famous and biggest events of Pride Week, the drag show consists of girls from the Tri-State Pageantry Productions and is free to all visitors.


Jamnesty 2010- Penn State’s Amnesty International will be hosting its annual Jamnesty celebration in support of Demand Dignity, a cause to end poverty. Various local artists from The Centre County region will be performing. The event is taking place at 7:00pm on Friday, at the Sozo located on Beaver Avenue in State College, PA.  Tickets are $5 and can be bought at the door.

 

Washington, D.C. Metro area

The Modern Day Matchmaker (Live)—
Saturday, March 27 at Gala Theater, 1400 Meridian Place, NW, Washington, D.C. Want to find love in the Washington, D.C. area? Join the real-lofe “Hitch” Paul Carrick Brunson, author Nikki Nokes, spoken word artists, and a panel of experts for a night of entertainment and a real talk about sex, love, and relationships.  Costs $20 show ticket, $10 VIP access card, $25 All Access Card.  Moderndaymatchmaker.eventbrite.com. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. This event will be recorded.




Arts Beats + Lyrics—
Friday, March 26, 7 p.m.-midnight at Andrew W Mellon Auditorium, 301 Constitution Avenue NW, Washington, D.C. An Urban Art exhibition.  




Ledisi  in concert—
Saturday, March 27, 6:30 and 9:30 p.m.  at Rams Head in Annapolis.

 
The National Cherry Blossom Festival-Opening Day—Saturday, March 27, (Family Day runs from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m./The Opening Ceremony follows from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.) Bring the whole family to the National Building Museum (401 F St. NW) for the opening day festivities, featuring music, crafts and more. Click the link for more Cherry Blossom Festival events.


Virginia
