The Roots - Late Night With Jimmy Fallon Sandwiches EP

The Roots have always served as a gateway for independent artists. Their website, Okayplayer, has connected many fans of music to a whole range of independent artistry, and a lot of indiestry artists such as The Foreign Exchange and Tanya Morgan got their shine through the website. Even though they currently have a day (night?) job as the backup band for the late-night talk show, "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon," they have not abandoned their love for music (their ninth studio album, How I Got Over, is slated for a 2010 release). During the show, when The Roots enter and leave a commercial break, they perform small sets called “sandwiches.” Since their time of joining the show in March, the crew have composed over 1,000 sandwiches. This past weekend, drummer ?uestlove compiled 22 of these sandwiches into a free EP. Delicious (pun intended).
