Here are some indiestry events you’d enjoy this weekend. (This should hang you over until Monday )

Baltimore

Teavolve isn’t just a great place to drink tea and eat panini’s, the café and lounge also hosts indiestry artists. Teavolve is located at 1401 Aliceanna Street in Baltimore. Here’s what’s going on there this weekend:

  • Friday, Nov. 6, 8 p.m. Singer/Songwriter Craig Cummings will perform tracks from his recent indiestry release “Road Trips and Relationships.” Free show.
  • Saturday, Nov. 7, 8 p.m. Soul/Funk/Rock Band Nellys Echo has been compared to the likes of Seal and Sting, with a little John Mayer thrown in as he mixes a little calypso, a little Afro-beat and a lot of soul into a winning and charming style that is always a crowd pleaser.”  Free Show
  • Sunday, Nov. 8, 7 p.m. Be Mo Jazz Presents The Mark Moseley Trio. (James King-bass, Lenny Robinson- drums, Mark Mosley-guitar) $10 admission.

Baltimore/New York



The New Mastersounds
have been making jazz/soul/funk music for ten years. The UK band (Eddie Roberts-guitar, Simon Allen-drums, Pete Shand-bass, and Joe Tatton-keyboards) is on a US tour promoting its sixth studio album “Ten Years On,” which is available now on itunes and elsewhere Nov. 16.  Fans can also buy copies of the new CD at tonight’s show in Baltimore and tomorrow’s show in New York.

Ohio/Indiana


The Bloodsugars
have a few tour dates this weekend, as they promote its latest pop/rock album “I can’t go on. I’ll go on.” Catch the band in these three towns:

  • Friday, Nov. 6, 8 p.m. at Cedars Lounge in Youngstown, Ohio.
  • Saturday, Nov.7, 8 p.m. at Frankie’s in Toledo, Ohio.
  • Sunday, Nov. 8, 8 p.m. at Melody Inn in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Los Angeles



Chloe Temtchine
will perform Monday, Nov. 9, 10 p.m. at Room 5 Lounge in Los Angeles. $6 admission.

 

Washington, DC 


 


  • If you love photography, international travel or the word "free", then the FotoWeek 2009 Festival is the perfect activity for you. Come out and enjoy the exhibitions and lectures. You will also receive the chance to have your portfolio critiqued by experts. The festival begins Saturday, Nov. 7 and ends Saturday, Nov. 14.
  • Saturday, Nov. 7 is the last day of the Latin American Film Festival  so enjoy  Looking For Miguel at 1:15 pm or Bombon, The Dog at 3:00 pm. Both films will be showing at Martin Luther King Jr. Library. Cost: FREE
